FAQs

Arc Renovations

  • Can you help with renovation design, layout, and material selection?

Our design process includes dedicated time with our designer who collaborates closely with you to realize your vision. We assist with every aspect, from overall layout and design to specific details such as cabinet and door hardware selections. Arc Renovations ensures that each element is carefully chosen and harmoniously integrated into your project.
  • Can you work within an existing layout or do you recommend changes?

We are flexible in our approach, accommodating your preference to work within the existing layout or suggesting modifications to enhance functionality and flow. Our expertise extends to structural changes, including the removal of load-bearing walls to create more open, contemporary spaces. The final decision depends on your specific goals, budget constraints, and overall vision for the area.
  • How much does a typical kitchen or bathroom remodel cost?

Kitchen remodel costs typically range from $40,000 to $90,000, with more extensive or custom projects potentially exceeding this range. Factors influencing the final cost include kitchen size, chosen materials and finishes, and any structural modifications. Bathroom remodels generally fall between $20,000 and $50,000, varying based on similar factors. During our consultation, we will work to define a scope and budget that aligns with your vision while maintaining our standard of quality craftsmanship.
  • What happens if unexpected costs come up mid-project?

In the event of unexpected costs arising during the project, whether due to unforeseen issues or client-requested changes, we prepare a detailed written change order. This document outlines the additional work scope and associated costs. We require your review, approval, and signature before proceeding with any extra work. To maintain project momentum, we request that all change orders be paid in full upon approval. This process ensures transparency and alignment throughout the project's progression.
  • Do you supply materials (cabinets, countertops, appliances), or should I buy them?

We provide all necessary materials for your kitchen remodel, including cabinets, countertops, plumbing fixtures, and tile. Our preference is to supply all materials as it allows us to ensure proper sourcing, compatibility, and timely delivery. This approach enables us to maintain quality control, keep the project on schedule, and avoid potential issues with missing or incompatible items. While you'll be fully involved in the selection process, we handle all logistical aspects.
  • What might cause delays in the project timeline?

Several factors can potentially cause project delays, including material delays or backorders, unforeseen issues discovered during demolition, client-initiated change orders, permit or inspection delays from local authorities, and scheduling conflicts with specialty trades. We mitigate these risks through careful planning and advance material ordering. Our team maintains proactive communication, ensuring you're promptly informed of any delays and our strategies to keep the project moving forward.
  • Do I need to empty out my entire kitchen/bathroom before the project starts?

We request that all cabinets, drawers, and storage areas be completely emptied before project commencement. This facilitates efficient work and protects your belongings from potential dust or damage. For larger, difficult-to-move items such as refrigerators or heavy furniture, our team is available to assist with relocation on demolition day. Please inform us in advance of any such items requiring our assistance.
  • How will you protect other areas of my home from dust and debris?

Protecting your home from construction-related dust and debris is a key priority. We implement several measures, including the installation of ZipWalls to contain dust and isolate the work area, use of carpet protectors and floor protection materials in high-traffic areas, and daily thorough cleaning of the job site. Our team is committed to treating your home with the utmost care and respect throughout the renovation process.
  • How are changes or upgrades handled once the project starts?

Post-project initiation changes or upgrades are managed through a formal change order process. This involves discussing the proposed change, preparing a written change order detailing the scope, cost, and schedule impact, obtaining your approval and signature, and collecting payment for the change order upon approval. This process ensures clear documentation and communication for any project adjustments.
  • Do you offer a warranty on workmanship and materials?

We provide a one-year warranty covering workmanship and materials. This warranty addresses any defects or issues arising from installation or product failure within the specified period. Beyond this, our commitment to customer satisfaction extends past the warranty period. As a business built on referrals and reputation, we strive to rectify any installation-related problems, even after the warranty expires, to ensure long-term client satisfaction.
